T-Pain Says Future Doesn’t Know How To Use Auto-Tune

T-Pain recently let his feelings known about Future in an Instagram post that went live earlier this week. After saying the Bugatti sports car that appeared in Ace Hood‘s “Bugatti” video was the Thr33 Ringz rapper’s old ride, Pain went to Hot 93.7 to take aim at the artist’s ability to use Auto-Tune. Pain did go on to commend the Pluto rapper’s song writing abilities. “I don’t think Future gets the technology very well. I don’t think he understands how it actually works,” said the Grammy Award winner. “He’s writing great songs. He’s a great writer. Keep in mind, you can use Auto-Tune and you can know how to work perfectly, but you still have to know how to write a good song. Just because he sound good dosen’t mean he’s saying good stuff. As far as how he uses Auto-Tune, I don’t think he knows how it works. I think he’s thinking that you just turn it on, and then it just happens. But nah, he writes great, great hooks and great songs themselves. I just don’t think he actually knows how to use Auto-Tune yet.” The “Buy U A Drink” singer refused to claim sour grapes, stating that Future Hendrix is on top right now and doing his thing. “A lot of people don’t sing with it, a lot of people just sing and then put it on after, which is a terrible mistake. There’s a lot of stuff you’ve gotta know about Auto-Tune before you can start using it, because it’s the hot thing to do,” he said. “But Future’s still great right now, he’s doing his thing.”

Ace Hood Confirms Departure From Def Jam

Ace Hood has confirmed his departure from Def Jam and is currently with DJ Khaled‘s We The Best Music via Cash Money Records.

During an interview with Power 105′s The Breakfast Club, the Southern rapper said that he signed a three-album deal with Def Jam at the onset of his career. After fulfilling his contract with Gutta, Ruthless and Blood, Sweat & Tears, Ace explained that he wanted to take his label situation elsewhere and that he has nothing but love for his former imprint. “The situation was over with Def Jam. What I have with them? I had three albums with them. My situation with them was up,” he said. “We chose to take the label situation to another place, to another home. It’s no knock to Def Jam, shout out to Def Jam. I will always be forever grateful to Def Jam for supporting my career and being there. I’m definitely a lot more happy with the situation I got now, in all honesty, because I’m able to do me. There’s no pressure. Nobody’s calling me, forcing an album on me or forcing this on me. It’s what’s your vision? What do you want to do? We’re willing to do what you want to do.” Ace, who recently released his single “Bugatti” featuring Rick Ross and Future, debuted in 2008 with Gutta, which entered the charts at No. 36 with 25,000 copies sold. The following year, he dropped Ruthless, which bowed at No. 23, and in 2011, he released Blood, Sweat & Tears that topped at No. 8 with 26,000 copies sold. He is currently gearing up for his fourth album Trials & Tribulations, releasing this summer.

T-Pain Throws Shots At Future On Instagram [PHOTO]

In an event you can’t say you didn’t see coming, T-Pain took to Instagram to take a few shots at Epic Records recording artist, Future. T-Pain, who saw worldwide success in the mid-2000s after popularizing the use of auto-tune in records, called Future the “new T-Pain” in not so flattering terms. ”Funny thing about that Bugatti you woke up in, its mine. Oh, the irony,” Pain left in a message on an Instagram picture that has since been deleted. ”Funny how “the new T-Pain” has to use “The old T-Pain’s Bugatti for his Bugatti hook. So there’s that. Not at all throwing shots at Ace Hood. That’s my man, 100 grand,” Pain said in reference to the Future Hendrix rapper’s latest hook, “Bugatti.”

The Free Band Gang leader has been looked at as the person mainly responsible with bringing back auto-tune after Jay-Z famously dropped his Blueprint 3-single, “Death of Autotune.” The Atlanta rapper has saw much success with hit singles like “Turn On The Lights,” “Same Damn Time,” “Itchin,” and “Tony Montana.” ”When I first used Auto-Tune, I never used it to sing. I wasn’t using it the way T-Pain was. I used it to rap because it makes my voice sound grittier. Now everybody wants to rap in Auto-Tune. Future’s not everybody,” he told Complex in a recent interview. “The people who are taking my style are like my babies. I’ve got a tribe of kids that want to be like me.” Prepare yourselves, folks.
