Mannie Fresh On Big Tymers Exclusion

“It’s kinda like doing a Jackson 5 album with Boyz II Men. Two different eras, great artists, but Boyz II Men is not the Jackson 5. I don’t bash Cash Money, Birdman, or none of them. It’s really on, I’m just striving on just getting what I deserve, you know, what I put in. Honestly I think Drake is a great artist, I think Wayne is a great artist, but they not the Big Tymers.”

I’m too old to be making dis songs. I’m too wise to be making shots at anybody, but my thing is I’m a business man at the end of it. You can call it whatever you want to call it, but you can’t call it a Big Tymers album.”

Chris Brown Unsure About Rap Album

Chris Brown Unsure About Rap Album

While Chris Brown has shown a passing interest in flexing his hip-hop muscle over the years, the singer revealed in a recent interview that he doesn’t know if he’s ready to record an entire hip-hop album. “For me, I think I would have to progress more as an emcee first,” he said in an interview with Power 98. “It’s just me having fun and showcasing who I am. So an album, I would really have to be taken a hundred percent serious as a rapper. I like Rap. I love it. Music is my passion. Even on my album now, there’s a couple songs that I rap on. But as far as a whole album, I don’t know if the world is ready for Chris Brown, the rapper.”

“Music is for everyone,” he added. “When you put genres on music, you segregate it… I want to always be able to do any kind of music I want. When I get older I might want to do a Country album. Next year, I might want to do an all Hip Hop album or Alternative album. Just making sure that anything that goes down, showing my audience or showing people that have a creative mind that you can do anything you want, it’s just about believing and loving what you’re doing in a positive way.”

We couldn’t shoot straight through anything so we just kept on laughing…I’ve always been nervous around Wayne because prior to him signing me I was obsessed with him.”

Drake Talks New Album, Rihanna & Chris Brown “The Woman That He Loves Fell Into My Lap. I Did What A Real N*gga Would Do”

I just feel like for the media and media outlets that listens to this interview. Don’t ask me sh*t about [Chris Brown] when I come up there,” Drake said. “Leave that man alone. Stop preying on his insecurities. His insecurities are the reasons that I make better music than him. That I’m more popping than him and at one point in life the woman that he loves fell into my lap. I did what a real n*gga would do and treated her with respect, so she’s not up there talking down on me. All those things combined create an individual that comes up to your radio station and is gonna do dumb sh*t.”

Chris Brown’s ‘Bodyguard’ Is Suing Drake For Club Brawl

Chris-Browns-Bodyguard-Sues-Drake

Chris Brown’s bodyguard is suing Drake and the  New York City SoHo nightclub where the hip-hop stars brawled last June. Patrick Strickland filed suit against Drake and the owners of the W.i.P. club in SoHo in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday. He claims the nightspot’s owners are responsible for the head injury he sustained during a brawl between the two stars’ entourages because they sat the two parties next to each other, despite employees knowing there was tension between the rival groups. The seating arrangement created “a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps,” the suit for an unspecified amount of  damages states. Moreover, the club over-served Drake and his posse, and had an employee hand Brown a note from Drake that read: “I’m f–king the love of your life,” according to the Strickland suit.  It’s so crazy, because Brown and Drake are suing each other over the fight, while basketball star Tony Parker is suing the nighclub owners for his injuires.

Drake Leaves BMI & Signs With ASCAP

Drake just made a potential power move. The YMCMB rapper has left his former publishing home of BMI and has joined the ranks of ASCAP. ”For me, a big part of making music is getting the opportunity to work with people I love, trust and respect,” Drake told Billboard. “As an organization run by music creators, ASCAP represents a whole community of kindred spirits. Joining ASCAP was just a natural choice for me because I know my music is in the best possible hands.” Added Nicole George-Middleton, ASCAPs  VP of Rhythm & Soul Membership, ”We are really excited to build on our longstanding relationship with Drake’s team. Working from the beginning with his collaborators Noah ’40′ Shebib and Boi-1da, it felt only right to have Drake join the ASCAP family.” Recently, the “Take Care” rapper celebrated Shebib’s 30th born day by surprising the engineer/producer with a pair of birthday cakes. Last year, the two reportedly signed a label deal for their OVO imprint with Warner Bros. Records. Drake is currently working on his third album, titled Nothing Was The Same. While his current singled, “Started From The Bottom” sits at  No. 3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 2 on the Rap Songs chart, he recently shot the video for “5AM In Toronto.”
