Jennifer Lopez Video Shoot Ends In Gunfire

Jennifer Lopez was whisked off the set of a music video shoot in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend after three gunshots were heard. Her boyfriend Casper Smart walked her to a nearby trailer. According to reports, the incident occurred near Ft. Lauderdale Beach Park while Lopez and rapper Pitbull were shooting the video in the southern end of the park. Security officials said that Lopez was “secured inside her vehicle.” But an “ET” reporter says he was interviewing the star when the shots were fired. “Security scrambled her away,” claimed the reporter. So far, no arrests have been made.

Rick Ross Was Strapped During Vehicle Ambush [Full Police Report]

Had he not crashed his Rolls Royce, Rick Ross had every intention of protecting himself during a drive-by attempt on his life in January. At the time of the shooting, Ross reportedly had a semi-automatic Smith & Wesson handgun in his  possession. A newly released police report, revealed the details.

From The Smoking Gun:

The rapper Rick Ross had a loaded 9mm handgun in the waistband of his pants when the Rolls Royce he was driving was recently fired upon on a Florida street, The Smoking Gun has learned. The 37-year-old performer (real name: William Leonard Roberts) was carrying the Smith & Wesson semi-automatic despite having a suspended handgun permit, according to a Fort Lauderdale Police Department report (which was released today after TSG filed an open records request with cops). It is unclear whether Ross will face a weapons possession charge in connection with the January 28 incident. The “black and chrome” gun seized from the rapper contained 12 live rounds, with one in the chamber and 11 in the magazine, cops noted.

Ross never attempted to hide the gun despite not having a valid license to carry the weapon, and has hired  24-hour armed security, since the shooting. Read the entire police report below.

Rick Ross Being Guarded By NYPD

Rick Ross is allegedly under 24-hour guard by the NYPD. Rozay has been staying at a plush downtown hotel in NYC and to make sure no one who may wish him physical harm gets at him, cops have been posted outside.

TMZ  has the info:

Rick Ross — the rapper who has allegedly been targeted by a dangerous gang — is being protected by NYC cops round-the-clock because of recent threats … law enforcement sources tell TMZ. We’ve learned cops have been guarding Ross at The London Hotel for the last few days. Sources tell us, recent threats have been specifically aimed at the rapper … and he’s not taking them lightly. You’ll recall Ross’ Rolls-Royce was shot up in Ft. Lauderdale last month after the rapper’s birthday party while Ross was making his way home. Ross and his passenger were not injured in the attack — clearly, the shots were intended as a warning.

The jokes write themselves considering the “Diced Pineapples” rapper’s past gig as a correction’s officer. Nevertheless, better safe than sorry. On the morning of his birthday on Jan. 28, the Bawse was a victim of an attempted drive by shooting. While speeding away, Ross crashed the Rolls Royce he was driving into a nearby building. Ross reportedly hired his own 24-hour armed security after the incident. The Maybach Music Group rapper performed at last night’s BET Rip The Runway taping and has a new album, titled Mastermind, due out later this year.

It has been reported that Rick Ross was shot at more than 20 times and wrecked his Rolls Royce. In the car was his said to be girlfriend, Shanteria L. Moragne-el. Who is she you say? Moragne-el has  previously been romantically linked with Ross. She’s the boss of her own fashion  label, Frontrow Couture. The line had a runway show at New York Fashion Week  this fall. JoJo performed. In an interview with Vocab Magazine, Moragne-el talked about working her way from a celebrity stylish to designing  her own label. A lot of accounts vary of how long he’s been linked to Bawse — some say the two have been linked for five years. They were spotted together  strutting the red carpet at the Django Unchained premiere. If you’re a Bawse, you should employ a security detail at all times. Rick Ross learned this the hard way when he was the victim of an attempted drive-by shooting on his birthday. Rozay and his girlfriend were travelling alone that early morning, but now the “Hustlin‘” rapper has employed 24-hour armed security. 

TMZ reports:

Ross — aka Ricky Rozay — was already using armed bodyguards for protection at major events like concerts and public appearances … but now he’s decided he wants a full-time security detail. Ross was targeted in a drive-by shooting in Florida early Monday morning … when a car pulled up next to his Rolls-Royce and opened fire. Ross lost control of the vehicle during the incident and crashed into an apartment building. Sources close to Ross tell TMZ … the rapper had been getting threats for a while … but he wasn’t too concerned. But we’re told Ross considers the shooting to be an “eye-opener” and will do whatever it takes to keep himself safe. The shooting was an eye-opener?

This is where we mention the public threats Rozay received late last year from a North Carolina chapter of the Gangster Disciples, who felt a ways about the rapper using a Star of David symbol they associate with on his Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape. Ross cancelled a Charlotte tour date, but he said it was over a shady promoter, not the threats. However, soon after he was on a Miami radio show talking much sh-t about how he was good in any hood he goes to. Fort Lauderdale, and whoever shot at his Rolls-Royce, would disagree. When the majority of your music is about flossing your diamonds, how expensive your whips are and how much cash you have in the bank, best believe the envious are going to want to test your gangsta, rob you or worse.

 Exclusive: “Freeway” Ricky Ross says that he’s “not surprised” that Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting.

Following yesterday morning’s incident where rapper Rick Ross crashed his Rolls Royce into a building following a drive-by shooting attempt, “Freeway” Ricky Ross has spoken out on the situtation. Speaking exclusively with HipHopDX, the former drug kingpin said that he’s “not surprised” that the assassination attempt occurred because Ross “doesn’t understand the street rules.” As a consequence, situations like this take place. “I’m not surprised that it happened given recent ongoings, when someone doesn’t understand the street rules they get confused and incidents like this can take place,” he said. “I’m still dealing with ongoing litigation about something as basic as using my name and identity, that should have been dealt with properly a long time ago.  We covered it in more depth in the Power of the Name Rick Ross piece.” “Freeway” Ricky Ross plans to take the rapper and Warner Bros. Records to court this August in the continuing fight over his name. Rick Ross Confirmed As Driver In Drive-By Shooting Incident, Passenger Identified
 Rick Ross was indeed behind the wheel of his Rolls Royce when assailants reportedly fired a dozen rounds in his direction.Following this morning’s reports of Rick Ross targeted in a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, some additional details have now been confirmed. According to TMZ.com, police have announced that Rick Ross was indeed driving the Rolls Royce Phantom at the time of the shooting and subsequent accident. The star rapper‘s passenger was Shateria L. Moragne-el, a female companion. Authorities added that neither Ross nor Moragne-el suffered any injuries. The suspects in the shooting are said to have fled the scene following the collision. Further information has revealed that the Maybach Music Group founder was traveling from his birthday party at Miami’s LIV Nightclub. Diddy was among the guests at the celebration. According to Wikipedia, today (January 28) is the rapper’s 37th birthday.
