This Thursday the the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed that they will be converging streams into the Gold & Platinum (G&P) Program. This means that on-demand audio and/or video song streams will be considered toward the 500,000 (Gold), 1,000,000 (Platinum), and 2,000,000 plus (multi-Platinum) thresholds that are necessary for the G&P’s Digital Single Award certification. With that being said, RIAA will be awarding 11 Gold, 18 Platinum, and 27 multi-Platinum with the new Digital Single Award. The streams that are accounted for are from services like Rhapshody, Spotify,MTV.com, VEVO, Yahoo! Music, YouTube, and more. So we can expect artist like Drake, Eminem, J. Cole, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake,Kanye West, Kelly Rowland, Kendrick Lamar, and Rihanna to be awarded with the new certification.
Kelly Rowland has continued to look more and more beautiful over the years, and PEOPLE has taken notice. The popular magazine has named the R&B star as one of its ‘Most Beautiful.’ The 32-year old shares the honor with fellow leading ladies including Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence and more. In the photo, Kelly poses without makeup. “I feel very comfortable in my skin and very comfortable to share it with you guys,” she said of her natural look. Kelly Rowland’s new album Talk a Good Game is due out this June featuring collaborations with Beyoncé, Michelle Williams, Pharrell, The-Dream, and Wiz Khalifa
For those of you who were anticipating a new release from R&B singer, Kelly Rowland you have to hold your horses and wait a lil while longer….Kelly’s new album, ‘Talk A Good Game’ has been pushed back from June 4th to June 18th, 2013. Kelly confirmed the news yesterday on ‘The Madd Hatta Morning Show.’
Ciara and Ashanti are also gearing up for releases around that time so, maybe the push back was due to the competition. So, Kelly fans you’ll now have to wait for that new collaboration with Destiny’s Child.
As her fans across the world await the first single off her upcoming album,Mariah Carey continues to work on the project, and she was back in the studio with Jermaine Dupri and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. Two of Mimi’s most frequent collaborators, and two that many expect nothing but greatest from when they get in the lab. Jermaine first shared the image with the simple tagline “A real R&B moment.” Only time will tell when she will be ready to release the first single from her album, as she continues her time as a judge on the new season of ‘American Idol.’ But, these three together could be a serious problem, and it sounds like R&B was the focus…
R&B singer Kelly Rowland says Beyonce has a right to express herself however she’d like. Addressing controversy over Beyonce’s “Bow Down” and “I Been On.” Rowland says both songs really just scratch the surface of what is to come. According to Singersroom, I’ve heard pieces of what she’s done. She’s heard things that I’ve recorded and I just think it scratches the surface to everything else. I think it’s a great record (“Bow Down”). It’s her expression. I think, as an artist, you can express yourself however you want to and I just can’t wait for everybody to hear the rest of the record. It is insane,” Rowland told “The Big Tigger Show” over the weekend.

While legendary MC Nas was riding high with his Grammy nominations. Though he didn’t take any awards home, he still was a winner because he got to present an award with the lovely Kelly Rowland. however, according to Nas’ first baby mother Carmen Bryan, he would have been a loser even if he won. While the Grammy Awards were airing, Carmen Bryan was airing Nas out for not bringing his teenage daughter to the Grammys despite being nominated a few times for the song “Daughters.” Bryan tweeted that her daughter Destiny was crushed because she couldn’t attend the ceremony with her father. Bryan went on to say that she was left to pick up the pieces after Nas left his child on the East coast as he went to Los Angeles.
Naturally, her followers jumped on her bandwagon and began slandering Nas’ name like he was their child’s father. Destiny Jones has the right to feel hurt for not being asked to attend the Grammys with her father, but I agree with him not bringing her. You can look at this two ways. First off, Nas is newly divorced. He may have just wanted to celebrate as a single man. Secondly, his daughter is at an age where she can handle herself, but Destiny Jones is also the reason “Daughters” was written in the first place. Did we forget she was posting pictures of condoms on Instagram and such? that kind of behavior shouldn’t be rewarded even if the subsequent song becomes a hit and gets nominated for awards.
