Mike Tyson Files Multi-Million Dollar Embezzlement Lawsuit Against Live Nation

Mike Tyson has filed suit against concert promoter, Live Nation, alleging to have been the victim of embezzlement. The former boxing champion is seeking more than $5 million in damages. Tyson claims that Live Nation and its advertising company, SFX Financial Advisory Management Enterprises, embezzled upwards of $300,000, costing him millions in the end. Live Nation allegedly paid some of the money back to Tyson and his wife, but never gave the couple a full detail of how much they are owed, and tried to get them to sign a non-disclosure agreement. According to the suit, the alleged criminal acts of Live Nation and SFX forced Tyson to hire new advertisers, prevented him from taking on other lucrative contracts,  and halted his climb out of bankruptcy. He is accusing that both companies “misappropriated said funds for the benefit and enrichment of SFX/Live Nation.” Live Nation denies being served with any legal paperwork, and would not comment on the case. In his prime, Tyson’s earned well over $250 million but years of frivolous spending and bad business deals devoured his fortune. Today he is worth a reported $1 million, and has found other ways to bring in money. Aside from appearing in the film The Hangover, the Brooklyn native premiered a one-man Broadway show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.

Rick Ross Cancels Charlotte Show Due To Threats From Gang Members [Video]

Rick Ross  may be riding high on his Grammy nomination but he’s not above walking away from a show if his safety is at risk.

The Teflon Don, canceled his show in Charlotte, scheduled for this weekend, allegedly due to threats from gang members in the area.

Neither Ross nor the show’s promoter, Live Nation, have named the gang situation as a reason, but members of the Gangster Disciples have beef with the rapper over him calling out the name of their leader and using the Star of David (which they also use) on his Black Bar Mitzvah mixtape. The group released a YouTube video threatening him to stay out of the North Carolina city.

Paul Scott, a minister and Hip-Hop journalist, believes that killing the show was the right move. “I think fans should be concerned I think the parents should be concerned because you never know,” Scott said. “No one took the Tupac Notorious BIG beef seriously until they were both dead.”

Local police said in a statement that they take security measure very seriously. “As always with large events such as this concert, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will remain vigilant and work to ensure a safe environment for all those attending.”

State Of Georgia Plans To Garnish Nas Earnings From Tour With Lauryn Hill

Uncle Sam always gets his dough, somehow someway. The state of Georgia is out to collect the million dollars it alleges that Nas owes in back taxes and plans to skim money off the MC‘s earnings from the “Life Is Good/Black Rage” tour with Lauryn Hill

TMZ reports that the Georgia Department of Revenue (GDR) has filed documents seeking to collect $1,083,435 the “You Owe Me” rapper (sorry, but that was too easy) owes in taxes from 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010.  The GDR has obtain an ordered that Live Nation, who are promoting the tour, garnish his wages until they get all their loot.

The Queensbridge rapper should be all too familiar with Georgia’s tactics. The state has already been garnishing his royalty checks. Earlier this year, it was reported that Nas owes a whopping $6 million to the federal government in back taxes.

According to Nas’ reps, this matter has been handled. But, the state of Georgia is clearly unconvinced.
