Meek Mill Disses Reebok

Meek Mill Disses Reebok

Meek Mill is still bitter about Reebok terminating Rick Ross‘s endorsement deal in the wake of the “U.O.E.N.O.” controversy last month. The MMG rapper appeared on CivilTV and voiced his anger at the way the corporation “pimped” Ross and then dumped when things got hot.

“F**k Reebok. We wear Puma’s. That’s what we do. We wear Puma’s. As far as the Rick Ross situation with Reebok, I just don’t approve of none of that,” Meek said. “I don’t approve of no companies trying to dip and dab in our culture and then when you make a mistake they dip out on you. So, it’s like they still making money off of our brand.”

“I’m very against that. Ross is off of Reebok now, Reebok still gonna make money off of Ross. You know what I’m saying? Before Rick Ross and Swizz and Tyga, it was no Reebok,” he added. “These companies they actually follow our culture and make money off of our culture and pay us like a pimp…And me, I’m against that. Any way you fire me, we gonna tear your sh*t back down. Ain’t nobody wearing Reebok.”

Meek Mill & Ace Hood Defend Rick Ross Date R@pe Lyric

As if the Rick Ross d@te rape fiasco wasn’t already controversial enough, MMG cohort Meek Mill and We The Best Music Group artist Ace Hood recently came to the Miami rapper’s defense. In separate radio interviews, both artists shared their different stances on what most would consider a pretty cut and dry lyric. Meek’s spiel came during a recent sit down with DC’s 93.9 WKYS, who inquired about his standpoint on the controversy surrounding his boss’s now infamous line on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” Around the five minute mark, the “Amen” MC was sure to mention previous cases of rappers mentioning r@pe that were swept under the rug, and blamed the blog phenomenon for perpetuating a lyric that otherwise would have flown over the radar. “Biggie said, ‘r@pe your kid throw ‘em over the bridge’ back then. It was nothing, it was just Hip-Hop. Now you got all these weirdos on these social sites voicing their opinion about something anybody say. I don’t care, I’m from the hood,” said Meek, claiming rap to be an “imaginary visual.” “If a writer write about somebody getting r@ped in a movie, that mean he a r@pist or he want girls to get r@ped? No, he just wrote about that in a movie.” On the other hand, the “Bugatti” rapper’s explanation on Jenny Boom Boom’s show in Hartford was less brash and less informed. And by less informed, we mean that Ace Hood has probably never actually heard the record based on his response. Meanwhile, Rick Ross has been evading bad press since the public got wind of his verse, on which he says he put a molly in a girl’s drink and took her home afterwards. The MMG frontman has since apologized for the public’s “wrong interpretation,” but many, including Talib Kweli, still remain critical of his antics. Looks like this will be the topic of conversation for a bit longer, Rozay.

Swizz Beatz Doesn’t Think Meek Mill Will Respond To Cassidy

Swizz Beatz Doesn't Think Meek Mill Will Respond To Cassidy

If there is anyone who knows about Cassidy’s career in the game, it’s Swizz Beatz. The two worked closely when Cass first made a splash on the mainstream Rap market. Through time, their relationship also had ups and downs. Now Swizz is being asked about Cassidy’s latest feud with Meek Mill. During his interview with Global Grind, Swizz shared his take on the diss & whether or not Meek will respond. ”That’s how he felt. His passion is rapping and battling and I think he said everything that he meant,” Swizz explained, when asked about Cassidy’s “R.A.I.D.” diss track for Meek Mill. When asked if his reaction was “Oh my God,” Swizz said he’s used to battling. “I’m used to it. I been around battling all my life. It’s a creative sport,” he added. However, he does not think Meek will be replying. “I doubt it,” he said. “I don’t think he’s gonna respond.” Swizz also spoke on Chief Keef and how he has become a part of the gun control conversation.

“I think it’s bigger than him,” he explained. “Chief Keef is just a name people can relate to because he’s in the entertainment business. But, I think the real reason is the youth, period, with nowhere to go, no plans, and they’re just resorting to living however they want to live. You go to a different country and they don’t have no support, no food, it’s the same thing. It’s just that we’re knowing about it more because there’s a celebrity name involved, but I wouldn’t even put that on him. This has been going on for years. They shut down the whole Cabrini–Green a long time ago. This been happening. But the key thing is how is it going to stop happening? Is it arts? Is it music? That’s the thing to figure out.”

Meek Mill To No Longer Address Cassidy Beef, Says Cassidy's Not Welcomed In Philadelphia

After feuding with Cassidy for several weeks now, it appears that Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is beginning to tire of his feud with the Philly emcee who once referred to their lyrical battle as being “good for Hip Hop.” While speaking with HipHopSince1987.com, Meek revealed that it’s no longer enjoyable releasing diss records aimed at Cassidy and that at this point he believes the rapper is merely trying to benefit from their quarrel.

“If we [release] diss records and whatever and after your diss record the next day you gotta try and drop a new song and you try to benefit off me that’s when it becomes not a game anymore,” Meek Mill explained. “You ain’t benefitting off of me. That little shit, your interviews, that go in four or 50 days…So when it becomes that it ain’t fun no more to me. It’s a nigga trying to steal from me basically.”

After stating that he would no longer speak on his beef with Cassidy in interviews, Meek Mill addressed Ar-Ab’s recent comments on Cassidy and revealed that Cass is no longer welcomed in the city of Philadelphia.

“He can’t come back to the city really,” said Meek. “Last five times he been back to the city he was back here with me or either Ar-Ab. He ain’t addressed everything Ar-Ab said in none of his raps because he won’t address it, he scared to address it. He won’t dare address that. And Ar-Ab ain’t saying nothing new he been saying shit like this. He only saying it because of the camera.” In the span of their beef both Meek Mill and Cassidy have released a handful of diss records including “Raid,” “Me, Myself & iPhone,” and “Repo.”

Meek Mill Suing Philadelphia Police For False Imprisonment

Meek Mill claims that back in October 2012, Philadelphia police jailed him without cause and posted his photos on Instagram. The Maybach Music Group rapper, born Robert Williams, is now suing the City of Philadelphia and police Officers Andre Boyer and Michael Vargas in Federal Court for civil rights violations, false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and civil conspiracy and is seeking punitive damages. Courthouse New Service reports that in his complaint, Meek (the plaintiff) states that on October 31, 2012 he was driving a Range Rover when he was pulled over around 7:30 p.m. by Officers Boyer and Vargas “without cause or justification” near the intersection of 11th Street and Girard Avenue. Meek was handcuffed and taken into custody. The rapper claims during this time—he was held for nine hours—the officers took photos of him that made it onto Instagram and other social media outlets. Meek was eventually released in the early morning of the next day (4:30am, Nov. 1) without being charged with any crime. As Hip-Hop Wired previously reported, on November 1, 2012, Meek took to Twitter to say that he was “harassed and violated” by Philly police.

Because of the hold up, Meek claims he missed a promotional appearance in Atlanta. While he was being held, Meek missed the private jet he booked to fly him down to the ATL  that nice and was forced to refund its deposit. Missing the date, and being locked up, meant “the loss of numerous sponsorships and endorsements; the loss of plaintiff’s solitude, seclusion and privacy; the anxiety and embarrassment associated with plaintiff being placed in a false light; and the anxiety and embarrassment of being seized, detained, confined and imprisoned against plaintiff’s will.” For his trouble. Meek is seeking monetary compensation for “civil rights violations, false imprisonment, invasion of privacy and civil conspiracy.” Just last night, Meek Mill dropped a new song called “From Da Bottom,” that will be appear on his forthcoming Dreamchasers 3 mixtape. The “Amen” rapper’s debut album, Dreams and Nightmareswas released on October 30, 2012.  via:hiphopwired
