Phil Jackson Compare Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant

Over the years, getting legendary NBA head coach Phil Jackson to compare Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant was damn near impossible. But in Jackson’s forthcoming new book, a memoir titled Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success, he does just that. Basically, it seems like the Zen Master gives the edge to Air Jordan.

The Los Angeles Time printed some excerpts of the book where Coach Jackson compares the NBA Hall of Famer and the sure to be first ballot Hall of Famer.

On their skills as team leaders:

“Michael was more charismatic and gregarious than Kobe. He loved hanging out with his teammates and security guards, playing cards, smoking cigars, and joking around,” Jackson said in the book, which was obtained in advance by The Times.

“Kobe is different. He was reserved as a teenager, in part because he was younger than the other players and hadn’t developed strong social skills in college. When Kobe first joined the Lakers, he avoided fraternizing with his teammates. But his inclination to keep to himself shifted as he grew older. Increasingly, Kobe put more energy into getting to know the other players, especially when the team was on the road.”

On their defense:

“No question, Michael was a tougher, more intimidating defender. He could break through virtually any screen and shut down almost any player with his intense, laser-focused style of defense,” said Jackson, who coached Jordan to six championships and Bryant to five.

“Kobe has learned a lot from studying Michael’s tricks, and we often used him as our secret weapon on defense when we needed to turn the direction of a game. In general, Kobe tends to rely more heavily on his flexibility and craftiness, but he takes a lot of gambles on defense and sometimes pays the price.”

On getting buckets:

“Michael was more likely to break through his attackers with power and strength, while Kobe often tries to finesse his way through mass pileups,” Jackson wrote. “Michael was stronger, with bigger shoulders and a sturdier frame. He also had large hands that allowed him to control the ball better and make subtle fakes.

“Jordan was also more naturally inclined to let the game come to him and not overplay his hand, whereas Kobe tends to force the action, especially when the game isn’t going his way. When his shot is off, Kobe will pound away relentlessly until his luck turns. Michael, on the other hand, would shift his attention to defense or passing or setting screens to help the team win the game.”

Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success is in stores Tuesday, May 21.

Michael Clarke Duncan’s Sister ‘Judy Duncan’ Wants Omarosa Investigated

michaelclarkeduncanhospitalizedomarosa

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan passed away in September and his fiance Omarosa Manigault was left everything. Judy Duncan told TMZ that she hired a lawyer to investigate the circumstances behind why Omarosa became the main beneficiary of Michael’s will. Judy believes MCD was not of sound mind when he made the changes … because as early as December 2011, the actor was not himself, slurring words and stumbling around. Judy says her suspicions about Omarosa intensified when MCD was hospitalized following his heart attack … telling us Omarosa was fixated on MCD’s money when he was on life support. Another thorn in Judy’s side … Omarosa has already sold a bunch of MCD’s personal effects (watches, cars, his “Green Mile” director’s chair, awards, etc.).  Judy says Omarosa sold the stuff without the family’s knowledge … and she’s pissed. Check this out though, Michael Duncan Clarke reportedly left Judy with $100,000.As for Omarosa’s rebuttal, she told TMZ: “I don’t control the estate or the finances and Judy knows it. If you saw all of her emails and texts to me you would see that she is just trying to get money from me, and threatened going to press if I did not give it to her and that is a crime!”

Michael Jackson’s Mother Sues AEG For Billions!

Many people have been wondering about this for a very long time. According to TMZ the late Michael Jackson’s mother is suing AEG Live for the death of her son “The King Of Pop” on behalf of his children. And the sum of money that they are asking for is not for the faint of heart! Katherine Jackson and Michael’s three children are suing for 40 billion dollars! AEG Live, is the entertainment company that hired Dr. Conrad Murray to take care of the iconic singer. And as we all know, Dr. Conrad Murray was held responsible for Michael’s death in a court of law.  So, many people figured that AEG would have been sued for monetary damages years ago. TMZ reports that AEG says, “the $40 billion is preposterous because Michael’s career was in a downward spiral following the child molestation allegations, as well as self-imposed exile in the Middle East. The damage claim is based on rank speculation.” Is that blaming the victim though? And didn’t they think enough of MJ’s future earning potential to invest all that money into his “This Is It Tour” in the first place?  If his career was over, why would such a big and powerful company invest the sort of dollars that they did in him at all? Seems like that might be against the teachings of classes like “Smart Business Practices 101″.
