Is Rihanna to blame for J.R. Smith‘s struggles during the Knicks/Pacers playoff series? Some Knicks fans out there think so. Rih-Rih and J.R. were spotted partying together after a Knicks win in Game 2 of the series last week and he hasn’t been the same since. So one Knicks fan in particular who goes by the name @peruvian_gawd took it upon himself to call Rihanna out for it on Instagram today. And, according to a screen grab that he posted to his own Instagram page a little while ago, Rihanna responded by going in on the Knicks and J.R.
J.R. Smith needs to pay his bills. The Knicks guard has been ordered to pay $48,000 for a pair of Black Jesus pieces and other jewelry. It’s not a bill collector telling Smith to pay up, it’s a judge.
Don’t mess with Black Jesus … or YOU WILL PAY … just ask Knicks stud J.R. Smith, whose A$$ just lost a $48,000 lawsuit involving a diamond necklace that features an Afro-American rendition of the messiah. A jewelry company called Lemmerman’s sued Smith, claiming he ordered a bunch of bling back in 2010 — including a diamond chain, two Black Jesus pendants and some earrings — totaling $25,500 … but never paid. We’re told one Jesus pendant and chain cost roughly $15,000 alone. Lemmerman’s sued for $48,101 — which includes the jewelry bill plus interest and attorney’s fees — but Smith never responded to the suit … so a judge ruled in Lemmerman’s favor. Smith has now been ordered to pay the $48,000 asap … or else. Calls to Smith’s people weren’t returned.
Expect the NBA to make sure J.R. Smith put his Twitter game on chill sooner than later. A direct message exchange the New York Knicks shooting guard had with a potential
paramour jump off leaked and from the looks of it he clearly wastes no time when trying to bed a fan. ”You trying to get the pipe?,” asked Smith after a few inconsequential exchanges with the girl. Hey, she did use a couple of smiley faces (just saying). Deadspin reports that the girl who shared the DM conversation she had with Smith, is in high school. This isn’t the first time Smith’s antics have drawn fire. He infamously posted a booty shot of Joe Budden’s ex-girlfriend and current Love & Hip Hop New York cast member Tahiry Jose on Twitter. The cost of that post, besides Tahiry ending their relationshp, was a cool $25,000 fine from the NBA. But hey, who is to say Smith isn’t starting a line of tobacco pipes? Well, he actually responded in kind to all the social media slander by posting a photo of tobacco pipes to his Instagram with the hashtag #YouTryingToGetThePipe.
No one here in the Big Apple figured the Brooklyn Nets-New York Knicks on-the-court rivalry would be as intense as it is. But, on Monday night it got personal, according to the New York Post. Yesterday evening, Nets player Kris Humphries took to Twitter to take a jab at the Knicks after leaving Madison Square Garden with a 88-85 victory.
Though, J.R. Smith of the Knicks could not resist countering Humphries’ gloating tweet with one of his own. But Smith’s tweet, depending on how you read it, was a bit more personal.
Smith’s tweet has been re-tweeted more than 52,000 times and favored more than 20,000 times since it went live around 2 a.m. this morning.
Here is more on this story by The Post:
Smith’s tweet can only be in reference to Humphries’ estranged wife Kim Kardashian, who is now dating Kanye West and is pregnant with the rapper’s child. West performed alongside Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and Billy Joel during last month’s “12-12-12” Sandy-benefit concert.
Humphries and Kardashian are in a heated divorce battle as Humphries wants the reality star to admit that their 72-day marriage was “staged” and to give him a “public apology.” Sources have told Page Six that Humphries turned down a $7 million offer to “shut up and go away.”
Smith has gotten in hot water over posting to his Twitter account in the past. The Knicks star was fined $25,000 by the league last year after posting a picture of a nude woman to his account and last May tweeted about his potential departure from the Knicks, which he eventually downplayed.
Humphries finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench in the Nets’ win.
Smith finished last night’s game with 16 points in 38 minutes, he missed the game-tying trey as time expired.
