Ex-Nappy Roots Rapper R. Prophet Says Cops Beat Him Like A Slave

Let this be a warning for rappers; you aren’t winning a fight with the cops. Ex-Nappy Roots rapper R. Prophet caught a vicious fade on 4/20 at the hands of Kentucky police and has shared graphic images of his injuries. Also, he basically said popo beat him like a slave.

Reports TMZ:

Prophet was arrested Saturday for disorderly conduct and other stuff, and in the middle of the bust he screamed, “I’m R. Prophet!!!” But cops thought he was proclaiming, “I’m a prophet” … which made him look like a nutcase, and things went downhill quickly. Kentucky State Police say they had to tase the ex-Nappy Roots rapper multiple times for resisting arrest … and again for kicking out the back window of a police cruiser. The photos tell the story of the struggle. But Prophet tells TMZ, it’s all BS … he was fully cooperative and cops repeatedly tased him for no reason as he laid helpless on the ground and handcuffed, adding, “I felt they were doing me like a slave. I thought I was dead.” He also says when he was thrown in the back of the cruiser he was pepper sprayed and tased again. Prophet says it got so bad in the car he thought they were going to drive him somewhere and kill him. In a panic, he says he gashed his head on the window. The trooper who arrested Prophet tells TMZ, the rapper was highly intoxicated, walked directly into traffic and was a danger to himself and others.

Crowd Pepper-Sprayed While Waiting In Line To Buy Air Jordan XI

Even though Michael Jordan has been retired from the NBA for nearly 10 years the demand for his legendary shoes still hit a fever pitch every time a new pair is released. Not to mention that these are shoes that were originally released before many of the recipients were born or were in diapers. For some folks in Alabama, even getting pepper sprayed  wasn’t enough to make them get off line to purchase a pair of Air Jordan XI a.k.a “Space Jams”. Those came out in 1996. Authorities in Hunstville, Alabama used pepper spray on an “unruly” crowd gathered at the  Madison Square Mall since it closed the previous day.  The police only sprayed  the general area, not a specific person, since those who were fighting had  dispersed by the time of their arrival on the scene. Ironically, reportedly  those lined up weren’t even waiting for the kicks. They were waiting for 36  wristbands that allowed them to cop the shoes.

Although medical assistance was being offered to those affected by the pepper  spray, everyone refused treatment for fear of losing their place in line. The Air Jordan XI costs $185. Despite Jordan Brand reportedly making 500,000 pairs of the shoes  available worldwide, that significant supply is still not enough to meet the  shoe’s high demand.
