Method Man Suggests Fans Create A "How High 2" Petition

Method Man and Redman’s beloved stoner flick How High may have been released well over a decade ago, but despite that lengthy period of time there hasn’t been much progress made when it concerns a sequel to the film. TMZ recently caught up with Method Man who revealed that they’re currently waiting for Dustin Lee Abraham to write a screenplay for How High 2. “Right now my man Dustin Lee Abraham, who wrote the first one, we’re currently waiting on him to write the second one. If it’s good enough, we’ll rush out the gate with it,” Method Man explained. Method Man later alluded to there possibly being an issue with Universal and even encouraged fans to start a petition if they have any interest in seeing a sequel to How High. “[If] Universal get the stick up out their ass. There’s a lot of people that want to see this movie,” said the Wu-Tang rapper. “Matter of fact, you guys should start a petition. Who wants to see How High Part 2? And once you start it then we’ll see where the big wigs heads are at.” Released in 2001, How High featured Method Man and Redman as two marijuana smokers who were accepted into Harvard University.

Raekwon’s recent Lost Jewlry mixtape may have been a highly praised release, but according to the Wu-Tang spitter, the project was merely an appetizer leading up to the release of his new LP this summer. While chopping it up with HipHopSince1987.com, Raekwon revealed that his next LP titled F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art) will serve as a “lifestyle project” that the world can relate to. “I got another project coming out, which is the LP causeLost Jewlry was basically an appetizer mixtape. To really get everybody to just get ready for me,” Raekwon explained. “So we wanted to drop something that we know that will make the heads turn like ‘Yo, Rae got it together on this right here.’ So you know, the next project is called F.I.L.A. F-I-L-A, which the acronym is basically Fly International Luxurious Art. That’s my next project that’s coming out in June. That one is a lifestyle project. It’s gonna be hot. I just got to the level of finishing it up and I’m feeling real good about this.”

After sharing his thoughts on a possible Wu-Tang Clan biopic, the rapper again spoke on a possible Wu-Tang Clan reunion album and shared that everyone would have to be “comfortable” for such an album to be made. “That right there is in the makings and it’s a lot of negotiations going on,” said Raekwon. “Process of really making everybody comfortable. We’re praying that that works. You know what I mean? That [it] works out in the greatest way. Everything has to be right. When you dealing with nine guys and you splitting the pot nine ways, it gotta make sense. Cause we got children now.” Raekwon’s Lost Jewlry EP was released in January of this year and featured guest appearances from Maino, Freddie Gibbs, and more.

So I just made it my business to get it done over there and make sure it was on deck for him.” Sway brought up the nuance that when you come in contact with West that he will tell you something about you that he likes when he meets you. ”He just was like, ‘Yo, you like one of the Greek gods in this rap game. Raekwon Addresses Possibility Of Wu-Tang Clan Reunion

Raekwon Addresses Possibility Of Wu-Tang Clan Reunion

Raekwon says that for a Wu-Tang Clan reunion to happen, it has to be done right.

With the Wu-Tang Clan’s 20th year in the business recently passing, Raekwon discussed the possibility of a Wu reunion. In an interview with MTV’s “RapFix Live,” Rae admitted that, at times, he can be the most difficult Wu member to deal with. “The bottom line is: Of course I want to see a Wu-Tang reunion. Of course. Who wouldn’t?” he said. “I just want everything to be right, the business. When we made a lot of our great music, it was because we were in harmony. You cannot put guys together if there is no harmony, and on top of it, we’re doing business. As a man with children, I have to always look at that. It’s bigger than sometimes just the thought of it, the fact of it, it just gotta make sense.” Raekwon continued, saying that despite any differences he and RZA may have had, he was indebted to the Abbot. “What RZA did for my life and my career, I can never repay him, but more importantly, I know what I’ve done: I’ve built my bones. I’m on over like two (thousand) or 3,000 records,” he explained. “I’ve created a brand for Raekwon, too. So, my thing is: I always just want to be fair about the business.”

“I’m not saying anything bad about RZA, but we’ve had problems in the past. That’s with any crew; every crew go through this, every artist, but then, hey, enough is enough. It’s like you just want things to be right and be fair,” he explained. “We got people running around with tattoos on their neck, their head, their face, their feet, their arms, they naming their babies after us,” he said of the Wu’s impact. “They’re doing all of this and all of that, and when it’s time to do business, we’re grumpy? That’s not fair to everybody.”
