Busta Rhymes Says Rappers Are Afraid

Busta Rhymes Says Rappers Are Afraid

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Busta Rhymes spoke about the significance guest spots have had on the hip hop industry. The superstar rapper shared his opinion as to why such towering figures like Nas, Eminem and Jay-Z don’t feature on as many artists‘ work as other stars.

“There’s one of two reasons to me why the same people appear on every song: one reason is either they’re just the hottest dudes, and the other reason is…” he said before pausing. “It’s interesting to me that Eminem isn’t on a lot of people’s sh*t. It’s interesting to me that Nas isn’t on a lot of people’s sh*t. It’s interesting to me that Jay-Z isn’t on a lot of people’s sh*t. A lot of the very dangerously lyrical motherf*ckers. I think there’s a fear factor that plays a role, because sometimes you really don’t know if you’re going to be happy with what you asked for – especially if you might get your a** whooped on your own f*cking record!” Busta was also asked when he realized features were becoming more and more important.

“A long time ago, especially for the artists that can’t carry a record on their own,” Busta answered. “And since the era of developing artists has died with record companies over 10 years ago, a lot of dudes had to come out here and figure out how to get hot on their own. A lot of the times, the novelty of a name that’s popping in the market is the easiest way. So the feature became more important than the record a long time ago. It’s unfortunate, but I think there’s a change happening: A lot of the new dudes aren’t doing it. They started to realize chasing down a hot motherf*cker was a sh*t-ton of work, cause when a hot motherf*cker think he’s hot, they become divas real quick.”

Kelly Rowland Responds To Keyshia Cole’s Tweets: “Destiny’s Child Matters More Than Her”

Kelly Rowland, Keyshia Cole

Though Michelle Williams took the high road when responding to Keyshia Cole‘s mean girl tweets following the “surprise” Destiny’s Child reunion during Beyonce’s electricity snatching Super Bowl performance, Kelly Rowland didn’t hold back her amusement that little Miss Keyshia tried to come at the throne. In an interview with Rolling Stone to promote her 4th solo album, Talk a Good Game, Rowland’s statement can pretty much be summed up in two words: Keyshia who?

From RS:

You reunited with Destinys Child at the Super Bowl. Keyshia Cole received some blowback for criticizing Michelle Williams performance on Twitter. Do you have any thoughts on her comments?

It didn’t even make it on my radar until other people brought it up. It didn’t even matter. We had a wonderful performance, and that’s all I cared about. I was with my sisters and the three of us matter to each other, and that’s all that counts. We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than her. So, I really don’t care what she said. You can keep the change, Keyshia.  During the Super Bowl half-time performance, Cole tweeted the following:

Rihanna’s mother, Monica Braithwaite, is supporting her daughter’s relationship with Chris Brown. In Rihanna’s recent Rolling Stone interview, her mother was asked her opinion on her daughter’s relationship. No matter what anyone else thinks of her daughter, Monica believes in Rihanna’s ability to make the right decisions. “I know her,” said Monica. “I’m very proud of her.” Monica believes that her daughter is headed in the right direction and is very conscience of the decisions she is making. “She has her head on straight. I have to let her make her decisions, and I can only sit back and hope and pray for the best,” said Monica. Monica’s decision to support her daughter throughout her roller coaster relationship with Chris just adds to the constant motherly love she provides to Rihanna. Monica tells Rolling Stone that she is amazed by her daughter’s ability to make the right decision.

Rihanna Covers Rolling Stone, Says Chris Brown Won’t “F**k Up Again” [PHOTOS]

For the second time in her career, Rihanna snags the cover of the illustrious Rolling Stone magazine.

In this issue, she talks as candidly as ever about her rekindled relationship with the volatile Chris Brown. This comes nearly four years to the day that the Fortune Pop star left the Bajan singer battered and bloodied inside of a luxury vehicle the night of the 2009 Grammy Awards. Brown pleaded guilty to assault and performed community service, but he remains on probation. “I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake,” the Pop princess told Rolling Stone.  ”After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.” The backlash she speaks of comes from not only her fans, but from Brown himself. The Def Jam starlet says without qualms that she is ready to walk away from him again if he even displays the slightest hint of his past behavior towards her.

“When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” she said. “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about sh-t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that. He doesn’t have the luxury of f**king up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.” Check out the cover and photos shot by Terry Richardson.
