The TLC biopic is officially ready for lift off!  Keke Palmer has been cast to play the role of  Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas in the upcoming VH1 special.  Keke was only six years old when Fan Mail album was released and told Vibe Magazine: “I would sing ‘No Scrubs’ over and over again to the point my parents would have to tell me to stop, but I never did, I had my little hairbrush as my mic and nobody could tell me I wasn’t the fourth member of TLC.” Keke joins Lil Mama, who will play Left Eye and actress singer Drew Sidora (“The Game”) who’s been tapped to play T-Boz. Keke’s career is on the fast track. After wrapping up three seasons on the Nickolodeon sitcom “Tru Jackson VP”, Keke was featured in Lifetime’s “The Carlina White Story” and voiced Peaches in last summer’s “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”

TLC Planning First Album In A Decade

This was definitely not expected. The surviving members of TLC have revealed their plans for a new album, their first in a decade after the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The two are also aking a TV biopic of their lives which is set to air on Vh1.

Speaking at the Mobo Awards in Liverpool, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins announced at the duo will be hitting the studio soon to record new material. Their last album 3d was released in 2002 following Lopes’ death in a car crash in Honduras in the same year.

T-Boz said:

“We’re going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time. We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else. When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
