Snoop Dogg’s 4/20 Party In Hollywood Shut Down By Police

TMZ reports:

Snoop Lion 420 Festival” — a giant party being held in a Hollywood Hills mansion to celebrate all things cannab!s — started at 11:00 AM … but quickly crashed and burned thanks to a bunch of fuddy-duddy neighbors.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … multiple neighbors in the surrounding area complained about the noise levels and parking situation caused by hoards of weed-loving partygoers. The fact that the party didn’t have a permit didn’t help matters either.

Cops arrived and quickly shut it down, putting a kibosh on the all-night festivities.

Our sources say no one was cited and Snoop was not there.

We think it’s safe to say that Snoop will have no trouble finding another spot to celebrate 4/20.

Snoop Lion’s new album, Reincarnated, is in stores April 23.

Rohan Marley Supports Snoop Lion Joining Rastafari Movement, Says Bob Marley Would Have “Embraced” Him

Rohan Marley Supports Snoop Lion Joining Rastafari Movement, Says Bob Marley Would Have "Embraced" Him

Rohan Marley has responded to the backlash against Snoop Lion for joining the Rastafari movement. Bunny Wailer, Rasta practitioner and original member of Bob Marley & the Wailers, initially criticized the rapper for exploiting the movement for personal gain. Now, Marley’s son has come to Snoop’s defense, telling TMZ that his father would have “embraced” him instead of publicly airing him out. “Our father’s name should not even be mentioned in this issue because like a true Rasta, he would have embraced Snoop’s reincarnation and welcomed the positivity,” he said. “Why condemn a man for his love of Rastafari and Bob Marley? We have been cool with Snoop before his transformation and he will continue to have our blessings and support.” Wailer publicly denounced Snoop after seeing his film Reincarnated, which documents his conversion to become a Rasta. “[His conversion is] outright fraudulent use of [the] Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism,” he said. “[Snoop has failed to meet the] contractual, moral and verbal commitments [of the Rastafarian religion].”

Last July, Snoop announced his official name change from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion. He told HipHopDX, “It’s not Snoop Dogg on a Reggae track. I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion. But I didn’t know that until I went to the temple. The high priest, when I walked in, he asked what is my name. I said, ‘Snoop Dogg.’ He said, ‘No more…You are the light. You are the Lion.’ From that moment on, I had started to understand why I was there. We hadn’t even recorded one song, but I was taking all of this information and spirit.”

Snoop Dogg Discusses “Reincarnated” Album & Teaching His Children About Marijuana

Snoop Dogg Discusses "Reincarnated" Album & Teaching His Children About Marijuana

Though Snoop Dogg‘s – or Snoop Lion’s – last project was a collaborative effort with Wiz Khalifa, the West Coast veteran doesn’t intend to have many features on his upcoming twelfth album, Reincarnated. ”"I really didn’t want to have too many featured people on my next couple of projects,” said Snoop in an interview with GQ. ”Because if I’m doing an interview with you and you say, ‘Hey, Snoop, you’re working on your next album. Well, who’s on it?’ That’s always the first question. Who the fuck you think is on it? Me, motherfucker!

During the interview, Snoop headed over to a medicinal marijuana dispensary, and he discussed teaching his children about his favorite vice. “It’s not that I would ever push weed on our kids,” explained Snoop, who has three children, and is famously fond of weed. “[B]ut if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their shit or overdose or trying some shit that ain’t clean.” Snoop even added that he was thinking of having the discussion with the peewee football team he coaches. “Believe it or not, they need to know.”
