Swizz Beatz Buys Ownership Stake in Monster

Swizz Beatz Buys Ownership Stake in Monster

While Alicia Keys was negotiating the terms of her role as BlackBerry’s global creative director, her husband Swizz Beatz was busy making his own moves in the tech world. News broke today that the producer has purchased a “co-ownership” stake in Monster and will join the company’s advisory board. After providing the audio guts of the Beats by Dre line, it looks as if Monster founder and CEO is looking for a new platinum producer to take the brand to new heights. “The products that we have planned are revolutionary in technology, sound, and style,” said Lee. “We need the talents and reach of Swizz to help bring these products to life in the eyes of the consumer.” For Swizzy, the move marks the latest in a string of business deals with companies like Lotus cars and Reebook. According to Monster, Swizz will “play an integral role in designing the company’s strategy and planning, expanding the Monster brand with partnerships across the globe.”

The One-Man-Band Man said of his new role with Monster:

“Monster has always been a go-to name for music electronics as well as a big part of music culture. Under the leadership of Noel Lee, who is a true genius, the company has literally been changing the way people listen to music for over 30 years. They built an empire, and my job will be to push the envelope – turn the lights of the castle up really bright and help Monster take its next big step forward. There will be some very exciting things happening in the year ahead, so stay tuned!”

Swizz Beatz Doesn’t Think Meek Mill Will Respond To Cassidy

Swizz Beatz Doesn't Think Meek Mill Will Respond To Cassidy

If there is anyone who knows about Cassidy’s career in the game, it’s Swizz Beatz. The two worked closely when Cass first made a splash on the mainstream Rap market. Through time, their relationship also had ups and downs. Now Swizz is being asked about Cassidy’s latest feud with Meek Mill. During his interview with Global Grind, Swizz shared his take on the diss & whether or not Meek will respond. ”That’s how he felt. His passion is rapping and battling and I think he said everything that he meant,” Swizz explained, when asked about Cassidy’s “R.A.I.D.” diss track for Meek Mill. When asked if his reaction was “Oh my God,” Swizz said he’s used to battling. “I’m used to it. I been around battling all my life. It’s a creative sport,” he added. However, he does not think Meek will be replying. “I doubt it,” he said. “I don’t think he’s gonna respond.” Swizz also spoke on Chief Keef and how he has become a part of the gun control conversation.

“I think it’s bigger than him,” he explained. “Chief Keef is just a name people can relate to because he’s in the entertainment business. But, I think the real reason is the youth, period, with nowhere to go, no plans, and they’re just resorting to living however they want to live. You go to a different country and they don’t have no support, no food, it’s the same thing. It’s just that we’re knowing about it more because there’s a celebrity name involved, but I wouldn’t even put that on him. This has been going on for years. They shut down the whole Cabrini–Green a long time ago. This been happening. But the key thing is how is it going to stop happening? Is it arts? Is it music? That’s the thing to figure out.”
