TLC Performing At Mixtape Festival

Surviving TLC members T-Boz and Chilli will be performing at this year’s Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Rap-Up reports that the two members of the beloved 1990s R&B trio will be taking the stage at the show. The ladies have only performed sporadically since the 2002 death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Also taking the stage in Hershey will be Run-DMC‘s Rev. Run, Hanson, The Jonas Brothers, One Republic, Boyz II Men and New Kids On The Block (N.K.O.T.B.) TLC were also the subject of a VH1 biopic that was filmed earlier this year in Atlanta and set to air later in 2013.

TLC Planning First Album In A Decade

This was definitely not expected. The surviving members of TLC have revealed their plans for a new album, their first in a decade after the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The two are also aking a TV biopic of their lives which is set to air on Vh1.

Speaking at the Mobo Awards in Liverpool, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins announced at the duo will be hitting the studio soon to record new material. Their last album 3d was released in 2002 following Lopes’ death in a car crash in Honduras in the same year.

T-Boz said:

“We’re going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time. We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else. When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
