DMX’s Wife Criticizes 50 Cent Over Cancellation Of “Starter Wives Confidential”

DMX's Wife Criticizes 50 Cent Over Cancellation Of "Starter Wives Confidential"

DMX‘s estranged wife took 50 Cent to task after he took credit for the cancellation of her TV series.

The estranged wife of DMX recently took aim at 50 Centover the cancellation of her TV show, “Starter Wives Confidential.” Tashera Simmons addressed Fif’s recent comments that he was responsible for the cancellation of her TLC reality series, which followed on a number of celebrities’ former partners. She said that rappers like 50 Cent – whose whose ex-girlfriend appeared in the first episode of the series - enjoy the benefits of a sexist double standard, while her and her co-stars are penalized for attempting to share their stories. ”I am very disappointed by the sequence of events that has taken place in the last week. It’s disheartening that the show was cancelled after two episodes due to many inflated egos,” she said in a statement. “I am no stranger to television and what just happened was unheard of and completely unorthodox. There were millions of dollars and a lot of hard work put into this project by the producers, staff, and my co-stars. It’s hard to believe that there are still some fundamental issues in our society about women speaking up or having a voice.”

She continued, “It’s okay for rappers to get on television and tell their story about how many times they were shot or how they were heavily in the drug game, but it’s not okay for women to share their story about their life experiences. ‘Starter Wives Confidential’ was more than a show about bitter or entitled women; it was about a group of women stepping out of the shadows of their ex’s and finding their way in life personally and professionally.” As previously mentioned, Fif took credit for the show’s cancellation in a Tweet earlier this week. TLC has since issued a statement indicating that the show was cancelled due to low ratings.

He plans on adding even more his collection of ink, with a similar tatt of Aaliyah. “Got a Dia’ De Los Muertos version of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes tatted on the left side of my ribs by @petertattooist ,” he wrote. “Gettin a Dia’ De Los Muertos version of Aaliyah on the right side of my ribs next…… 2 rib tats in one day…. #B-tchImThuggin Pain…. He and producer Noah “40″ Shabib are said to be working on the Detroit native’s posthumous album, but has yet to release the project. “It’s not about me, it’s not about 40, it’s really about her and her fans, and us getting the opportunity to give you something that we feel is great,” Drizzy said of the release. A new Aaliyah track, “Quit Hatin”  hit the ‘Net, after what would’ve been her 34th birthday, earlier in the month.  It’ll be interesting to see Game’s permanent ode to the fallen star.

TLC Planning First Album In A Decade

This was definitely not expected. The surviving members of TLC have revealed their plans for a new album, their first in a decade after the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. The two are also aking a TV biopic of their lives which is set to air on Vh1.

Speaking at the Mobo Awards in Liverpool, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins announced at the duo will be hitting the studio soon to record new material. Their last album 3d was released in 2002 following Lopes’ death in a car crash in Honduras in the same year.

T-Boz said:

“We’re going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time. We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else. When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
